When you keep a diary as a child, but drift away from writing entries as you grow older, it's really interesting when you go back and read them. I had four diaries just from middle school, though I didn't fill any of them all the way. The small diary with the pink cover plastered with Shrek stickers was from when I was eleven. I was a dramatic little thing, talking about how horrible school was and how no one understood me (everyone's life story, right?). I would complain about how I never got the boy I liked. They were fake complaints. I wasn't happy with being happy and decided to make my life sound dramatic.
I also had another pink diary, this one from Dollar General, with a big picture of a daisy on the front. The pages were the kind that when you flip them too much, the cheap glue holding them in fails on you. There are several pages missing, whether I was the one that ripped them out, or they just simply fell out and were lost forever. I wasted most of the pages writing about pets and small fights with my neighbor who was two years older than me. A few of the pages I had more meaningful things to say, about my dad and how much I missed him, about my family, and about my feelings.
My light green diary is filled with names of people and descriptions of what they had done to make me angry. They were all silly things that only a kid would even bother writing down, like someone taking my headband from me, or someone bumping into me and making me drop my popsicle (that was the worst thing that I could ever imagine occuring).
Finally, my blue diary is filled with Bible verses I had stumbled across and lyrics to hymnals I liked to sing when I was younger. I also had a few interesting quotes scrawled across the pages, my favorites being:
"Realize Real Lies With Real Eyes"
and
"No Jesus, No Peace. Know Jesus, Know Peace"
I guess blogging is a sort of diary, except it's out there for the world to see. I am always as bluntly honest as possible in my diaries, so I promise to do the same here. Thanks for reading my first post, I hope it isn't too awful, but then again, it's what I wanted to say so I don't really care (:
Yeahhh you got a blog!
